Bart Cauberghe

Bart Cauberghe is a seasoned private equity leader with more than twenty years of experience in M&A. He began his career at The Boston Consulting Group, where he developed a strong strategic and analytical foundation before moving into private equity. At Gimv, where he ultimately served as Managing Partner, Bart played a pivotal role in building and leading the firm’s Smart Industries platform.

Among his most notable transactions are the growth and eventual exit of Punch Powertrain to Chinese listed Yinyi group, of Xl Video to PRG, of security e-commerce distributor SmartSD to Cobepa, and of precision healthcare mould maker IGS GeboJagema to BC Partners.

Today, as a Managing Partner and co-founder at Smile Invest, Bart continues to focus on long-term partnerships with ambitious entrepreneurs, steering investments that combine innovation with sustainable growth.

Bart is married and a father of two children. In his free time he enjoys travelling, spending time in nature and a good glass of wine.
